To be a medical technologist, you need to finish a bachelors degree in medical technology. This takes four years in a college or university. If you decide to take this course, make sure that the school has enough facilities for you to practice the laboratory procedures in the school as being a medical technologist in the field, you will be doing a lot of laboratory works like fecalisis, phlebotomy, urine analysis, and more.

As for becoming a doctor, you need to study medicine for 4 years ina med school. After that you will take your licensure examinations and be a resident doctor at a certain hospital. This will train you to become a general practitioner. Once done, you will take fellowship on a hospital again for your choice of specialty and attend seminars or publish on top of that.
