REFLECTION OF THE STORY
The Shawl of Anita
The story is told by Anitas older sister. She narrated about the life of her mother. A fragile, skinny but very brave woman who raised them on her own. Anita being the youngest who was also very sickly, received more attention than the narrator even when Anita already had a family. She was scolded by the story-teller for letting their mother make a shawl instead of pampering her. Later on, she realized Anitas point and understood why she asked her to do it.
REFLECTION:
I could say that there is always a thing called sibling rivalry. There is also jealousy about who is the favorite. This story tell the reality of how siblings act inside the family. Nevertheless, it tells us that a mother will always be a mother. She does not become tired of bringing up her kids and that makes her fulfilled and happy.
I can say that, our mothers have been very tired since we were born and even they their hands are worn-out, their hearts will never feel that. That is how unconditional and lasting a love is of a true mother to her children.
